Your shoreline
Nothing between you and the water.
The grounds run down into the lake, with no public path along the shore and forest and green on the far bank. Two piers, a sandy beach, and in the evening the water is yours.

Potsdam and Berlin
Fifteen minutes from Potsdam. Forty-five from Berlin.
Caputh lies on the chain of lakes south-west of Berlin, beside Potsdam with its palaces and the Barberini museum. The Berlin families who built here from 1890 wanted quiet without giving up the city; the lakeside plots were allotted once and have kept their boundaries ever since. Title is recorded in the German land register, as with any freehold property in Germany. Two kilometres from the gate stands Caputh Palace of 1662.

Inside and out
Live beneath chandeliers, swim beneath arcades.

Four houses, one shore
An ensemble of four distinct villas.
The Pool House, 2020
Four and a half metres of ceiling height, marble and Bisazza.
Designed by Ulrich Weubel and completed in 2020. Arched windows to the pool and garden, marble floors with the year set into them, a fireplace with a 2.20-metre travertine mask, a sleeping area that closes at the touch of a button, the gym below. In front, fifteen metres of Bisazza mosaic.

The Main House, 1930
Two open fireplaces, floors as in Caputh Palace.
Comprehensively renewed around 2000 and laid out anew over four levels. A country kitchen with terrazzo from Mallorca, a panelled library with inlaid floors, the Spanish room downstairs with the character of a private bodega, the wine cellar beside it. The sightlines run through the whole house to the lake.

The Boathouse
Dine, sauna, swim: all on your own shore.
A dining room looking out over the water, a timber deck all around, a bed for guests who stay the night. And a sauna with a lake view that opens straight onto the water.

The Guest House
For those who stay longer.
In the front building by the road, a separate apartment with its own entrance and kitchen; the garages below, some of them heated.

The Garden
A garden that steps down in terraces to the water.
Park-like, on natural stone terraces, mature trees down to the shore. Fountains you can hear from the house, more than ten places to sit for the different hours of the day, and a heated orangery for the Mediterranean plants.
